How the calculator works
Choose the kind of website you want and whether you'd like a care plan. The calculator shows your first-year cost two ways: paying upfront for the website plus the care plan each month, and paying monthly with nothing upfront. The figures come straight from my pricing, so they're the prices you'd actually pay for a typical small business site.
Custom-built or WordPress
Custom-built (£600) is the fastest and most secure option. I build the site in Next.js, so it loads almost instantly and looks exactly how we design it. When you need a change, you ask me.
WordPress (£800) suits businesses that want to update their own pages, news and photos.
Either way, you pay half to start and half when you're happy and it's live, and the site is yours outright.
Pay upfront or pay monthly
Paying upfront is the best value over time. A custom-built site with the Essential care plan costs £600 plus 12 × £10, which is £720 in the first year, and only the care plan after that.
Pay monthly is £99 a month, all in: your custom-built website, hosting, SSL, backups, security and small changes whenever you need them. There's nothing to pay upfront, so the first year is 12 × £99, which is £1,188. The minimum is 12 months; after that you can stay monthly or cancel. It suits you if you'd rather not find a lump sum at the start.

How accurate is the calculator?
It uses my standard prices, so for a typical small business site the figures are what you'd pay. If you need something much bigger or unusual, such as an online shop, I'll tell you the full price upfront, before anything starts.

How much is hosting?
Hosting is included in every care plan, from £10 a month for Essential. That covers UK hosting, an SSL certificate, daily backups, uptime monitoring and security. The hosting provider guarantees 99.9% uptime.
What care plans do you offer?
Three, all including hosting: Essential at £10 a month (hosting, SSL, daily backups, monitoring and security), Plus at £20 a month (everything in Essential, plus small changes each month) and Pro at £30 a month (priority support and bigger changes). There are no contracts, so you can cancel whenever you like.
Are there any other costs?
If anything else is needed, such as extra pages, I'll tell you the cost before anything starts, so there are no surprises.
How long does it take to build a website?
Most sites are live about two weeks after our first call. Bigger sites take longer, and I'll give you a realistic date at the start.
Can I change my care plan later?
Yes. You can move between Essential, Plus and Pro whenever you like. There are no contracts on care plans.
What happens after 12 months on pay monthly?
Pay monthly has a minimum of 12 months. After that, you can stay on £99 a month for as long as it's useful, or cancel.
How much does an online shop cost?
Online shops vary a lot, depending on how many products you sell and how you take payments. Tell me about it and I'll give you a price.
