Questions advisers ask
Is it free?
Yes. All I need is your email address and the kinds of clients you advise.
Where does the information come from?
Everything comes from GOV.UK: HM Revenue & Customs, HM Treasury and the Department for Work and Pensions. I leave out HMRC's internal manuals, statistics and anything about VAT, duties or large companies that doesn't affect an adviser's clients.
How does it decide what matters to my clients?
Each new publication is checked against each kind of client by an AI model called Jev. Close calls go under "May also be relevant", and so does news coverage, so the main list is the documents themselves. Another AI model, Claude, writes the summary. Every item links to GOV.UK, and that's the version to rely on.
When do the emails arrive?
On the first Friday of each month at about 7am, and on the evening of each Budget or Spring Statement. If nothing affects your clients in a month, the email says so in one line.
Can I change which clients I get updates for?
Yes. Tick the new set on this page and enter the same email address. If you're already signed up, your choices change straight away and I'll email you to confirm.
Is this tax advice?
No. It's a summary of what the government has published, to help you spot what to look into. Always read the original and use your own judgement or your tax specialists before advising clients.
How do I unsubscribe?
Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email. The emails stop straight away, and you don't need to log in.
